Department of English had organized a study tour for the sixth and fourth semester students   from 3rd January 2025 to 4th January 2025. The visit was organized under the guidance of, Mr., Vineeth.K, Head of the department.  The journey began from the college campus at 3.00 pm via tourist bus (Dwaraka travels). A total of 24 students along with 2 department staff members Vineeth.K and Ganga Devi. MP accompanied with students.

          A two-day educational trip was conducted by the Department of English, KMCT Arts and Science College to Mattoli Community Radio Press, wayanad and Edakkal caves and Banasurasagar Dam for the VI th and fourth semester students.

The study tour to the Mattoli Community Radio, Wayanad aimed to explore the community radio in rural development, education, and local engagement. The visit focused on understanding the station's operations, the impact it has on the local community, and the challenges faced by the station in its mission to empower the people of Wayanad. The tour was conducted from January 3 to January 4, 2025.During the visit, we had the opportunity to tour the station's broadcasting facility. We observed the studio setup, where live shows and recorded programs are produced. The station Asst.Director, Mr. Tony Elamkunnel, explained the technical aspects of broadcasting, including how the team operates the equipment, records content, and ensures the quality of the broadcast.

We also interacted with the radio hosts and volunteers, who shared their experiences of working with the station. Many emphasized how the station helps local farmers access important agricultural advice and health tips, contributing directly to improving livelihoods.

        All the students enjoyed their trip and actively contributed to the success of the trip.
