Gandhi Jayanti Day Observance

On 2nd October 2024, the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit No. 325 of KMCT Arts and Science College, Kuttippuram celebrated Gandhi Jayanti Observance Day by conducting three different programs. The program started with a prayer and assembly to commemorate Mahatma Gandhi. The program inaugurated by Mr. Nidhin Das T, NSS Program Officer and emphasized Gandhi’s principles of cleanliness and community service.

As a part of Gandhi Jayanti observance a clean drive conducted in Kuttippuram private bus stand. Removed trashes, collected plastic waste from the bus stand. Created awareness posters on cleanliness and waste management.

 On the same day cleared all the waste from banks of Bharatappuzha. Participants praised the event’s impact and local residents appreciated the cleanliness initiative.

This event highlights the successful Gandhi Jayanti observance, promoting cleanliness, and community service and environment conservation.

On the same day in the afternoon session a documentary of Gandhi’s life and legacy, inspiring reflection has shown to students. The documentary explores Gandhi’s early life, his struggles and his leadership in India’s independent movement. It highlights his philosophy of non- violence, civil disobedience and simple living. This session helps to stimulate thoughtful discussions and reflection on Gandhi’s legacy and fostered community engagement and social awareness.
