The Women Development Cell (WDC) of KMCT Arts and Science College, Kuttippuram, successfully conducted a two-day awareness program on Personal Hygiene and Menstruation Awareness on the 25th and 27th of September 2024. This initiative aimed to educate and empower first-year degree students on vital health and hygiene practices, creating a supportive platform for addressing issues related to menstruation and overall well-being.
On 25th September 2024, the first session was held for the students of the BBA and B.Com departments. The session emphasized the importance of personal hygiene in preventing illnesses, understanding the menstrual cycle, adopting safe menstrual hygiene practices, and debunking societal myths
Surrounding menstruation. The session was highly interactive, with the students enthusiastically participating in discussions and clarifying their doubts during the Q&A session.
On 27th September 2024, the second session was conducted for students from the B.Sc. Computer Science, BSW, BTTM, and BA departments. This session covered the same critical aspects of personal hygiene and menstruation awareness, ensuring consistency in the content delivered. Students actively engaged in the discussions, and the open environment encouraged them to share their thoughts and concerns freely.
Both sessions were facilitated by Haseena NV (WDC Coordinator), who provided valuable insights and practical demonstrations to help students adopt better hygiene practices. The program was well-received, with participants expressing their gratitude for the informative and supportive approach. The WDC acknowledges the support of the Principal, faculty members, and volunteers, whose contributions were instrumental in the success of the program.
