Understanding Fertility: Challenges, Treatments and Preservation

The Department of Social Work, in collaboration with the Women Development Cell (WDC) of KMCT Arts and Science College, Kuttippuram, organized a Fertility Awareness Class exclusively for first-year girl students. The primary aim of the session was to educate young women on the importance of understanding their reproductive health and to encourage open discussions around fertility and wellness.

The session was led by Dr. Revthy Murugavel, a reputed medical expert with qualifications including MBBS, DNB in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and a Fellowship in Reproductive Medicine. She is currently

Practicing at Nila Women and Fertility Centre, Tirur. Dr. Revthy's session was insightful, informative, and well-structured to cater to the understanding level of young students stepping into adulthood.

Throughout the session, Dr. Revthy discussed various aspects of reproductive health such as the menstrual cycle, hormonal balance, fertility awareness, and common health concerns faced by women. She emphasized the importance of early awareness, timely medical consultation, and maintaining both physical and emotional well-being. The session also focused on breaking the stigma and myths associated with fertility and reproductive health, promoting a more informed and healthier attitude among students.

The class was highly interactive, with students actively participating and raising relevant questions, which were addressed thoughtfully by the guest speaker. Dr. Revthy’s friendly and professional approach created a comfortable space for students to express their doubts and gain clarity on sensitive topics.
